Meet Frayed Needle’s Brian Antonevich

By: Beauty News NYC

BeautyNewsNYC did a Q&A with the designer of the one-of-a-kind fashion company, Frayed Needle:

Tell us about yourself:

For several years, I have been a professional engineer based in Boston. When the pandemic hit, there was a lot of uncertainty, and remote access to everyday work life was being tested, meaning virtual meetings, which were new to a lot of people and somewhat of a challenge at the time. It was then that I decided to pursue my passion, which I could easily do from home and enjoy doing it.

Tell us about Frayed Needle:

Frayed Needle is a style that is edgy for an everyday, one-of-a-kind rock style look. Everything that I do with the Frayed Needle is hand-stitched and unique, like a piece of artwork. So if your own passion is a style or feeling, go for it! Having confidence in what you do is important. You can certainly excel. That is the beauty of the creative mind.

How did you get into fashion and design?

Growing up, I was always retrofitting and funking up my clothing for a distinctive look, not intentionally; it was just how I was. When I started making my jeans as a hobby and started to get input from others as I wore them, I realized that there was something there and decided to pursue what I like to do. The feedback I got from others was to do something with it, and that is when Frayed Needle was established.

What does it mean to you and your brand that your pieces are one-of-a-kind?

I love the thought of people being individuals and not falling into the status quo. Each Frayed Needle piece tells a story, and the beauty of each Frayed Needle choice results in never-before-seen products that will never be replicated again. It’s you and your look.

What are some products you’d like to highlight?

Well, I have to say I have several products I would like to highlight. Clint Woolsey of the Stone Senate Band from Nashville wears a pair of Frayed Needle patched leather jeans. Tina Hendrix from Seattle, niece of the late Jimi Hendrix, wears a Frayed Needle hand-stitched jean jacket that brings out a rock star attitude, as well as Ryan Cook, guitarist for Ace Frehley and Gene Simmons, wears a pair of Frayed Needle distressed jeans. Also, several of my family and friends are wearing their favorite Frayed Needle items. So go ahead and be the next to grab the feeling of Frayed Needle.
